Why Putin's Days Are Numbered
In an opinion editorial in The Moscow Times Ekho Moskvy radio political talk show host Vladimir Ryzhkov explains why President-elect Vladimir Putin’s days are numbered. The article argues that the only way Putin knows how to govern is by falsifying and manipulating elections, buying the loyalty of corrupt officials, keeping the courts obedient and controlling the main media outlets. But that is the very model of government that a growing and powerful civil society finds completely unacceptable. The future belongs to them.
