Mayoral Elections Give Russian Opposition a Boost
In an article in the New York Times, Moscow bureau reporter Michael Schwirtz says that just weeks before Vladimir Putin again assumes the presidency in Russia, scattered political insurgencies against local governments have begun to expose cracks in his near monopoly on power.
