The Russia Foundation

Welcome to the website of the Russia Foundation

The Russia Foundation has been set up to promote a deeper understanding of Russian affairs in the UK and to encourage dialogue between Russia and the UK around the themes of democracy, good governance, political pluralism, freedom of expression, human rights, the rule of law,
common security and economic cooperation.

It sponsors and organises conferences, seminars, lectures and other events to further its objectives, and works with a wide variety of partner organisations.

This website is intended to provide an English language resource for those seeking a deeper understanding of political, social and economic developments in contemporary Russia. It will publish original commentary and analysis along with links to the best information available
elsewhere on the web.

Latest Event - "New Transatlantic Perspectives On Russia"

The latest seminar in The Russia Foundation's 2008 programme is a roundtable event which will provide an opportunity for senior politicians, commentators, analysts and experts to explore the impact of the new US administration on western policy towards Russia. Questions addressed will include the following:

▪ Will the change of administration in Washington promote greater convergence of Transatlantic policy towards Russia?
▪ Will NATO enlargement remain a dividing line between the US and its European allies?
